Celebrating with School Spirit

Israel Curriculum and the Tel Aviv/Los Angeles School Twinning Program
The relationship with Israel is a key component of our curriculum at Briskin Elementary School. We believe it is important to appreciate Israel as a modern, contemporary nation, and a home to all Jews. We develop an understanding and a love for the land and the people and help foster a genuine connection. Our Israel curriculum spans all the grades, beginning in kindergarten, and culminating with a sixth grade trip to Israel. We take part in the Tel Aviv/Los Angeles Partnership, a program of the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, and are paired up with the Tzahala School in Tel Aviv.

We host a delegation of sixth grade students from Tzahala and travel with our sixth graders to Israel during Yom HaZikaron (Israel’s Memorial Day) and Yom Ha’Atzmaut (Israel’s Independence Day). The exciting program cultivates a deeply meaningful connection with Israel as well as an authentic connection to the Hebrew language.
Our students develop tight knit relationships, which expand to their entire families, and which last a lifetime.
